HUDSON HEARTS S.F.

Foggy grey mornings and cool city nights. The Golden Gate. Chowder bowls. And, oh, the shopping! Architecture, nature, glamour and culture… all in one place. What’s not to love about San Francisco?

Hudson’s Fall/Winter 2008 lookbook turned to this ‘cool grey city’ as our muse for the season. Its layers of fog, crisp fall days, and a climate suited for bundling up inspired our grey and silver fabrications and darker washes.

The scenery at Fisherman’s Wharf sparked our nautical side while we played around the docks.

We classed it up in Pacific Heights with true city sophistication to match the stunning historical architecture.

The result of our travels? A book full of our love for San Francisco and fabulous denim style. Want more? We don’t blame you. Check out the video on our site right here.

J’ADORE ADOUR

Just when we thought Adour (Alain Ducasse’s fab French restaurant at the St. Regis New York) couldn’t possibly be more luxe, we find out that their Wine Library has just gone paperless.

The glamorous gold and bronze bar now features an interactive wine menu that is guided by the touch of patrons. See a bottle that sounds interesting? Make your selection and a rosette will appear containing all the details needed to pick the perfect glass.

We’re guessing that the service at Adour hardly needs the added help of this full service menu, but there are a few local hot spots we can think of that would benefit from the technology – it would certainly beat flagging down unhelpful actors, errr… we mean, waiters pretending to know a thing or two about wine.

MISSONI MADNESS

It seems like Missoni is everywhere these days. Fashion, tableware, bedding, and recently, making a showing during Milan Design Week as a part of Corian‘s exhibit honoring the bright colors and vivid designs of Missoni with spaces like these:

Now we hear that the next plan on the horizon for the design powerhouse is a hotel.

Teaming up with The Rezidor Hotel Group, boutique spaces are planned in ten locations across the world in the next five years, with the first two opening in Kuwait and Edinburgh in 2009.

If the hotels are even as close to sucessful as the Missoni brand has been in every other endeavor, these spaces are sure to be just glamorous and fresh. Count us in.

TUESDAY TUNES: SCARLETT DOES WAITS

Hollywood has seen its fair share of crossover artists – actors who make the move to the music scene. Some have been fairly successful, and others better off forgotten. So, which will it be for the (usually) talented and always gorgeous Scarlett Johansson?

Ten of the eleven tracks are covers of songs written by Tom Waits, and the remaining song is an original, written by Johansson and her producer David Andrew Sitek of the band TV on the Radio.

Our favorite explanation of the outcome? … Sitek told Scarlett that he thought the album should sound like ìTinkerbell on cough syrup…î.

Riiiiight. Well, if Sitek was referencing Johansson’s ethereal low register, he certainly got what he asked for. So far reviews have been mixed Check out a few of the tracks on Scarlett’s MySpace and decide for yourself.

WUNDERBLOC = WANDERLUST!

We love shopping our favorite neighborhoods in NYC… but not all of us can be so lucky to live in the city that never sleeps. So what do we do? Turn to a little virtual satisfaction via wunderbloc, that’s what.

Devoted to the New York shopping scene, this site allows you to pick a hood, select a storefront, and pop right into a virtual tour of your favorite boutique.

Not only to you get a view of the shop, but to the right are featured products, and, below, announcements from the store.

Our favorite part, however, might be browsing through the “Fashionista” portion of the site for a true taste of current and classic looks from the city…

Each photo tells you exactly what they’re wearing (always a nice feature)…

… and totally captures an eclectic mix of styles.

Missing NYC yet? Yeah… us too…
