New Year’s resolutions rarely make it past a few months (or weeks… ok, days), but goals from the blog New Resolutions seem to bring a little more fun to the table…

Like releasing your inner Buffy the Vampire Slayer and kicking some personal demon a**.

Or the simply logical advice offered up by this submission. Crazy ice cream trucks.

Of course, there are the motivational resolutions snuck in there as well. You know, for good measure. With one resolution a day until December 31st, we’re adding this site to our daily browsing during ‘down time’ at work. Resolution #37: Don’t get caught by the boss.

After nine years (yes, nine), Q Tip has returned to the music scene with his album The Renaissance, and we’ve got one thing to say: welcome back, man. And THANK YOU. Now we remember what the roots of rap sound like. Good sounds, mixes, samples, flow and soul.

The album is solid from beginning to end and features collaborations with D’Angelo, Amanda Diva, Norah Jones, and Raphael Saadiq. Just do yourself a favor and download it. Now.

What’s more inspiring than fashion on the runway? Fashion on the streets. Seems like knowing that someone else is pulling it off makes it far more approachable, wouldn’t you agree? So today we popped over to one of our favorite Street Style blogs, Un Fille Comme Moi and were blown away by two fabulous little ensembles.

From head (fur hat!) to toe (love the booties), this style is all her own. And she even snuck in a subtle plaid. Awesome.

This look is straight from the fall runways from shows like Burberry Prorsum and Proenza Schouler, but she’s given it her own unique twist. We’ve been dying to try pulling off the sequins during the day… now we know just how it should be done.

Cozy and glamorous all at once, we’re loving this look from Swedish Elle. Have a fabulous weekend all!

Regardless of whether or not it’s practical (really, since when has that been an issue?) this oversized tote from Fendi is full of amazing detail that perfectly captures the feeling of fall.

We’re on a bit of a kick right now for the whole fashion-meeting-art thing (see our recent post on Dana Cowie, and you’ll see what we mean). So when the brightly colored world of Nikki Farquharson stumbled into our lives, we had to share.

She calls this series ‘Mixed Media Girls’ for obvious reasons, and we’re totally diggin’ the pop art vibe.

Crazy graphics, brilliant color, and sassy text. Our notebook doodles in college never looked this cool.

A little psychedelic design never hurt, right? Peace, love and fashion, people.

Normally when we hear ‘Victorian Modern’, we think Goth. We think dark colors and lots of lace. We think… hmmm… not so much our style. But then we found Eyola and we thought… wow.

Gorgeous detailing in the Victorian style, yes. But it’s modern, clean, and totally wearable.

Not to mention sassy! They describe themselves as “the combination of elegance, audacity and creativity,” which sounds just about right to us.
