Every year the experts over at Pantone select a color of the year. So, as we say goodbye to ‘Iris Blue’ for 2008, we welcome in ‘Mimosa Yellow’. As Pantone put it, ” In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow”

On the runway, both colors appeared in Spring collections like the fabulous prismatic schemes from Jonathan Saunders and the celebrated collection from Marc Jacobs. Personally, we’re looking forward a little more sunny color in our 2009 palette… and more mimosas too.

A little bag on bag action from Marc Jacobs to start of the new year? Yes please.
