June gloom has been sneaking up on us early. Back to the Chanel suits until summer officially arrives…

It’s fashion week down under, and the loudest buzz we’ve heard so far is coming from the direction of The Wharf Restaurant on Sydney Harbour…
The always theatrical Romance Was Born created an extravagant ‘under the sea’ theme complete with octopus hoodies and seashell studded heels…
Practical? Never. Brilliant? Definitely.
It’s like being at the Disneyland of fashion shows – most of the clothing more costumey than RTW – but perfectly executed. Especially when the sounds of Bat For Lashes set the soundtrack, with Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls for the finale. What more could you ask for from a show set by the sea?

My, my, how they grow up so fast. Happy Anniversary (or is it Birthday?) to our little blog! It’s been one awesome year of bringing you our favorite Tuesday Tunes, Friday Photos, and Lust List picks, along with many other fashion inspired posts. We hope you’ve enjoyed them as much as we have (and that you’ll keep coming back for more!).
Now… where’s that cake…?

We’ve seen some slightly over-the-top pieces (everything from tennis racquets to cars) come out of the major design houses, but this latest creation from Fendi is one of the most ridiculous when it comes to luxury details.
The cream leather accessories – a key and bike chain cover and leather gps navigation holder – are perfection against the white finish. The detachable case is only logical – where else are you going to store your sunscreen and black Amex? But, fur saddlebags? Really? Apparently two buyers found them just as necessary, as they were snatched up at the recent event to launch the Abici Amante Donna bicycle.

This is what we call bringing sexy back:
Show a little skin this weekend…

As we’ve mentioned before, when fashion designers turn into interior designers, the results tend to be a bit over the top. The home of Max and Lubov Azria is no exception…
The real story, however, is that Max had little to do with designing his home – it was Lubov who took the reigns in creating this eye popping space full of dramatic details.
Yes, the chandelier really does cascade all the way through the entryway table.
To balance the intense colors and high drama, a few spaces were left with a softer grey pallette, but are still just as striking.
So, what would you say to moving into this pad? Yeah, we’d take it too.

What Lizzie Fortunato does with fabric, Miriam Haskell does with stones, metals and more.
One of her latest collections (which includes the pieces above and below)†has been labeled Sea Gypsy, and we love the soft beachy colors and materials.

Her Acapulco collection also offers some serious pop – and you can see the similarity in style to Fortunato in the necklace especially.
Perfect statment pieces for fancy days at the beach!
Animal Collective is another one of those groups that’s a bit of an acquired taste. Their repetitive rhythms and the visual feel to their flow aren’t for everyone. But, if you’re a fan of a little ambient sound mixed with good beats, we think you’ll like the latest release, Animal Crack Box.
The perfect chill background music for late night, if we do say so ourselves.
While the catwalks are kicking off the Resort 2010 collections, were loving these real looks from the Street Chic archives at Elle, from one of the hottest cities for summer inspiration: Rio.
One of our favorite shades of green done with a simple belt and a hint of ruffle goes a long way. For hot days? A long tunic and some killer accessories, and apparently you’re good to go in Rio.
We love how the uber girlish ruffles are broken up with a heavy brown belt. The t-strap heels top it all off. And, who could resist this cool striped color combo? Very vintage. And are those Chloe shades we spy? Even the bag matches perfectly.
Time to kick the glam factor up a notch this weekend…
Lovin’ the way she’s channeling a little retro vibe with oversized glasses and striped shift dress. The chunky embellishments and silky material bring it up to date. Rock it.
