Fashion’s Night Out is a annual global initiative originally created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy during the recession. On September 8, 2011 over 250 cities nationwide held FNO events to highlight fashion and support retail with exciting events.
Naturally Hudson Jeans would never miss an opportunity to celebrate. This season we participated in the Saks 5th Ave Authentic Denim Event in Beverly Hills on Thurs, Sept. 8th from 6-9pm.
All the Hudson all stars were in attendance: Hudson CEO Peter Kim, Hudson Creative Director Ben Taverniti, and Hudson’s new face Patrick. We were also joined by some of our favorite denim blogs: The Denim Guy, Denim Therapy and Denimology.
The event include live cigar rolling, a whiskey bar, hors d’oeuvers and a TV broadcasting the NFL Opener because after all this was a Men’s event… That’s just how we roll…

Step #1
First things first: Grab your go-to pair of Carly Flap Pocket Straight Leg Hudsons. These jeans have a true straight leg form and give you that “never-ending legs” look! The Elm Dark Blue wash are the perfect balance of a rich, masculine indigo with a feminine whisker detail flare. Be sure to cuff the bottoms or roll the hem the slightest bit for a subtle greaser look!
Step #2
Avoid all the bells and whistles and go for a sheer, plain top. Crew or V-neck approved! A sweater will also compliment this outfit nicely, try a longer black cardigan (with suede elbow pads!) out for size.
Step #3:
If there is one shoe that will reign supreme this Fall, it is the oxford. A pair of Oxfords will go a long way, but most importantly, you can dress them up OR down! A pair of two-toned Oxfords or Tassel Loafers will give an air of masculinity, but still show off the dainty form of your female foot.
Step #4
While our male counterparts are typically not adorned in jewelry, there are a few staple items that will complete this ant-feminine ‘fit such as a boyfriend watch paired with a black felt hat. These last two items will blend all the different pieces together and polish off the look!
HUDSON featured twice in People Style Watch! Maria Sharapova names the Beth Baby Boot as one of her key pieces, and the Collection Back Zip Skinny is featured as a “Must Have Jean”!
Summer is still going strong here in LA, and Emma Roberts stepped out wearing one of our favorite sunny weather styles—the Hampton Cuffed Short!
Actress Claire Danes spotted in the Collin Skinny! The star was seen heading to LAX in her HUDSON’s
It’s official: We are obsessed with plum colored denim! The rich, purple hue combined with a vintage wash make the Colin Signature Skinnies the perfect statement jean (think color blocking)!
To really make this darker tone pop, pair with gold pieces. Take for example, a cropped gold sweater for daytime wear, or a gold sequin top for night time outings. The plum shade yields itself perfectly for the transition into Fall/Winter collections because it maintains the essence of summer color with the cooler, full-bodied winter schemes. Très chic!
Keep in mind that these skinnies are made for sky-high heels, so coordinate some serious stilettos when dressing up this denim! The combination of added height and a slim-fit cut will lengthen your legs, making the plum denim the center of your ensemble.
Whether it’s dressing them up, or dressing them down, rest assured that plum jeans are here to stay! Be sure to try out this sophisticated look, and tell us what you think!
The National Portrait Gallery’s current exhibition of vintage photographs spanning the 20′s to the 60′s in Hollywood is pure gold. Glamour of the Gods showcases previously unseen prints, alongside iconic images, all from the John Kobal Foundation. Expect to see the likes of Joan Crawford and Vivien Leigh rubbing shoulders with Marlene Dietrich and Louise Brooks in all their splendour. Snapped by such photographers as George Hurrell, Laszlo Willinger and Ruth Harriet Louise in a time before paparazzi, they had close relationships with both the Hollywood studios and the stars they photographed. Working in collaboration, the studios and photographers imbued the Hollywood glitterati with an air of mystique, elevating them, quite literally, to stars.
Until 23rd October.
A new fashion influenced bar was born in the garment district (go figure). Snuggled in the fashion district between LA’s chic designer streets, this bar is a great place to hang with friends and score on some high fashion inspired cocktails. With Chanel on the list, you know you’ve come to the right place!
Got to have Cocktail: The Gaultier (Puerto Rican Don Q rum, fresh watermelon, agave, lemon)
Night out: For a great ‘Sex and the City’ night with the crew, try to snag a booth by the large windows and try some tapas, arepas, a salad or panini while you wait for your couture drinks to be tailored to perfection. This bar is a great spot to relax and admire the city!
Attire: Take the new Hudson Nico jeans out for the night and dress it up with a sheer tank and a light blazer. Most importantly, channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw and refine the look with some heels. Let the heels be the statement piece of the night, so go for a bold color or a sexy leopard print!
