Tuesday Tunes: Tupac at Coachella 2012

For the 2% of you whom haven’t already seen this, you have to watch it!

Rumor has it that Dre, Snoop & the Tupac hologram may go on an all out tour after the success at Coachella. Looks like musicians have 1 more line to add to their wills now – “Yes I am ok with a Hologram me after I pass.” Technology – you never cease to amaze us.

The real question now is; would you pay to see a hologram concert of an artist from the past?

Tuesday Tunes: Dub FX – ‘Love Someone’

Dub Fx is a Hudson Favorite! This Australian native uses a Boss RC-50 Loop Station along with a GT-10 effects pedal to create vocal-only beats, and then sings & raps over the top to create a 360 sound that is uniquely his.

If you haven’t heard his music, check it out now before he hits Coachella. Only 10 days left until Coachella!

MTV Europe Music Awards

Celebs went all out fun with their looks and took to the Pink Carpet this past Sunday for the MTV Europe Music Awards!

As expected Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber dominated on wins. The live performances included heavy hitters like Rihanna, Cold Play and our favorite Queen featuring Adam Lambert.

We can always count on Europe to provide us with scintillating, jaw dropping moments and show stoping performances!

Went to Space with Gaga and Moonmen at MTV’s VMAs

Year after year, as college students return to their dorms and high school kids finish their summer reading, one MTV event heralds the beginning of another school year. Before the books open, the cultural mainstay celebrates all things music video, with the annual Video Music Awards. This year, elevating the VMAs to a whole ‘nother level is main performer, Lady Gaga. Last night in Los Angeles, moonmen were distributed to the best and brightest in music, from Foster the People to Wiz Khalifa. And in addition to the queen of the little monsters, performers including Adele, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and Young The Giant are set to entertain.

Here are some of our favorite moments:

Classic Album Sundays

In the quiet kitsch Hanbury Arms pub near to Essex Road, Islington, people are coming together to do what many haven’t done for decades: sit quietly together to listen to an entire vinyl. Classic Album Sundays is quite a simple concept but is resonating with many. Classic albums include such corkers as Human League’s Dare, Bob Marley’s Exodus and – coming up in September – Pink Floyd’s seminal album Dark Side of the Moon. Organizer Colleen Murphy presents the album to the discerning crowd with some background information and then everyone listens in silence to the entire vinyl album. The monthly event is popping up at festivals including Vintage at Southbank during August and, considering the steady flow of listeners, is sure to continue for many months to come.
