Lily Donaldson — BEST LOOK OF THE MET BALL — in Marc Jacobs

Yes, a lot of the Met Ball fashion  was crap. This year’s ball — held Monday evening to benefit the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — focused on “American Style.” In the case of many movie stars (like Maggie Gyllenhaal or Katy Perry), they seemed to interpret this to mean some kind of Oklahoma (the musical!) hoedown, replet with busty and bustles, odd ruffles, prints, cinches, and (eek!) taffeta.

But since we at Hudson are nice people who believe that style can be tapped even in a good solid sexy pair of blue jeans, I’ve decided to focus on who looked GOOD. See slideshow below.
